The Pieta by William Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) in an ornate gold frame under nonglare glass. This image draws the viewer into the grief of Mary and all of us upon the death of Christ. The image was painted by a man who knows greif through the loss of many of his own loved ones. Many folks have been commenting on the importance of this piece with the Mel Gibson production of The Passion.
