The dominant icon in a Byzantine Church. It is placed in the central dome; Christ is depicted in the end of time enthroned in glory. He blesses with His right hand and holds the closed Book of Judgment in his left hand. This icon is a portrayal of Rev. 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega.”
