Gayle Somers received her BA in history from the University of New Orleans, and holds a master’s degree in Theological Studies from the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. In 1995, on Pentecost, Gayle and her family were received into the Catholic Church. She has written numerous Bible studies for Catholic Exchange, a Catholic Web site apostolate. An experienced leader of parish-based Bible studies, Somers has also created the parish workshop, "Catholics on the Emmaus Road: Encountering Christ in Scripture," aimed at enabling Catholics to acquire basic biblical literacy skills and daily devotion to Scripture within one year. Somers lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband Gary and their three children.
